Hi! My name is Daniela, and as of 2025, I'm 29 years old. I was born and live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'd like to share a bit of my story with you...
It all started back in 2011, when I was 15. My parents noticed that theory and formulas weren’t my thing — my focus was elsewhere. So they helped me follow a path that would make me happy. They took me to an art workshop, where I discovered how relaxing and beautiful painting could be.
My first appearance online was in July 2012, when I created a Facebook page called “Pinturas Daanii Lopez” (yes, with the doubled vowels on purpose — it was a trend back then haha). I posted some small paintings and artwork I made at the workshop.
That page was inactive for a while. I didn’t really have a plan... At the time, I wasn’t familiar with the idea of a "small business", and there weren’t many tools to support that either. I just wanted a space to share the things I made.
At the end of 2012, my parents decided to move me to another school due to the bullying I was experiencing. In the new school, I met wonderful classmates and friends who are still by my side today.
Unfortunately, not long after that, I began experiencing symptoms I didn’t understand. Little by little, I withdrew and isolated myself. In mid-2014, a kind psychologist finally gave me an accurate diagnosis: anxiety disorders caused by post-traumatic stress, and depression.
I spent my final year of high school almost entirely at home. I couldn't attend classes. So I started looking for something to help me cope and stay distracted. I had lots of time and needed an outlet.
My aunt Paty used to crochet, and I was fascinated by the technique. My parents (always supporting everything I do) got me some yarn and crochet hooks so I could start practicing. I began watching YouTube tutorials and reading guides on different websites… until I discovered something amazing: you can crochet dolls!
I was blown away that you could make so many things with that technique. I tried... and failed. Tried again... and failed again. I gave up several times, but I didn’t want to quit. Slowly, with practice, I started making prettier things. Orders came in from friends, then from friends of friends, and eventually from complete strangers. Haha.
I could go on and on — there’s so much I could say — but one thing I’ll always highlight is this: thanks to the orders I received, I slowly began leaving my house again to deliver them. Over time, crochet became my job, my passion, and something that truly helped me feel better and reconnect with life.
Lady Artemisa is more than just a small business. Everything I make is filled with the same love and passion I’ve always put into art. I hope that in every piece you take home, you can feel a bit of that care.
Thank you for reading.
